Holy Week at Presbyterian church


Westminster Presbyterian Church will offer several worship services during Holy Week at the church, 32111 Watergate Road, Westlake Village.

• Palm Sunday at 10 a.m. April 2. Jesus’ triumphant entry to Jerusalem will be honored with a procession of palms and special music from the church’s Chancel Choir, Praise Team, Handbell Choir, WPC Kids and organist Pavel Petrov.

• Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. April 6. The telling of the Last Supper story will be presented through the image of the da Vinci painting, words of the disciples and music of the Chancel and Handbell choirs, organist Petrov and guest orchestral ensemble.

The cantata “The Living Last Supper” will be presented.

Communion in the church courtyard will follow.

• Good Friday from noon to 7 p.m. April 7. The church sanctuary will be open during this time with several prayer stations available for individual reflection, followed by a gathering for a short period of worship at 7 p.m.

• Easter Sunday, two services at 9:30 and 11 a.m., April 9. “He is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!” in celebration with the Chancel Choir, Praise Team, Petrov and guest brass ensemble, all under the musical direction of Ed Smart, director of music ministries.

A festive Easter egg hunt will take place at 10:30 a.m.
