French historian Helene Demeestere will talk about the French pioneers in the Santa Monica Mountains at 2 p.m. Sat., May 16 at the National Park Service Visitor Center, 401 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
Demeestere is a professional researcher and a doctoral student at Paris Pantheon-Sorbonne. She is writing a thesis on French immigration to California.
