The possibility of destroying a rare Santa Monica Mountains plant failed to stop the the Agoura Hills Planning Commission from approving plans for the new Conrad Hilton Foundation headquarters in the city.
Experts warned the Ojai navarretia, a flowering plant native to Ventura County and the western edge of Los Angeles County, could be obliterated on a part of the mountain where the Hilton complex is supposed to be built.
