As part of a partnership with the City of Calabasas and the Las Virgenes Unified School District, the City of Hidden Hills recently named resident Britt Aaronson as its appointment to the Calabasas Library Commission.

In an agreement reached earlier this year, Hidden Hills committed approximately $258,000 annually to enhance the library services in Calabasas.

The monies are used for supplemental library services—primarily for e-books and materials— provided by the Calabasas library to benefit all those using the library, including Hidden Hills and Calabasas residents as well as LVUSD students, teachers and parents.

All Hidden Hills residents can obtain a Calabasas library card free of charge through the library partnership.

Both the City of Calabasas and the school district will have equal input as to the use of the funds.

Aaronson attended her first meeting on Oct. 21.

“ The commission unanimously approved the expenditure of $115,000 to purchase and implement the e-book platforms, which will help accommodate both at-home and in-library patrons who have a Calabasas library card,” said Aaronson.

Aaronson has both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in literature. She previously served on the Calabasas Library Commission for two years when she was a resident of Calabasas.

She now serves as a volunteer librarian in the A.E. Wright library, and is active in many other community and school events.
