In a swift and surprising move, the city of Agoura Hills purchased the 71-acre Heschel School property next to Old Agoura for $630,000 at a public auction last week.
City Manager Greg Ramirez was the sole bidder for the property at the Pomona Courthouse auction on March 18. The land was expected to fetch about $2 million at the auction, and Ramirez said the market value of the two parcels could even approach $4 million.
