The 19th Amendment, which gave American women the right to vote, was ratified on Aug. 18, 1920. While the centennial anniversary is still months away, 2020 marks the 100th year since women in the United States gained the right to vote—and in many circles the celebration has already begun.
Timing, they say, is everything.
It’s also the first year that Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Calabasas and Malibu all have women mayors at the same time. And they’ve hit the ground running.
