San Diego is battling an outbreak of hepatitis A that has claimed the lives of 17 people and infected over 400 more, largely in the homeless population. The virus has spread north, with 10 cases reported in Los Angeles County.
Whether the virus will show up in Ventura County is hard to predict, said Dr. Robert Levin, medical director for the county’s healthcare agency.
