Help for pit bulls

When she first heard about Indy, the adorable pit bull that was purposelessly burned in 2013, Sky Valencia, founder of the St. Martin’s Animal Foundation, said she wanted to cry.

Saint Martin’s Animal Foundation, a nonprofit charity, has been rescuing homeless pit bulls and educating thousands of children about animal welfare since 1999.

The local shelters have more than sixty percent pit bulls and, sadly, most will be killed.

When Sky called the district attorney and found out that Indy’s court date was coming up, she alerted fellow activists.

Then a miracle happened. Animal lovers and activists from California and Nevada showed up at Van Nuys court for the Indy case. It was an adrenalin rush to see the colorful signs and activists wearing “Support Indy” and “No Excuse For Animal Abuse” T-shirts. No one wants these abandoned dogs and they would be put to sleep if not for St. Martin’s.

We are in desperate need of a vehicle to transport them. Please donate a vehicle today to help our dogs and receive a tax deduction. And if your can supply a new computer, a video camera or streaming video equipment we could place more dogs.

More information about the charity can be found at www.stmartinsrescue.org.
