Happy Mother’s Day!

Acorn readers offer these best wishes to the greatest moms in the world

When I was 3 months old, my mom contracted polio and was put in an iron lung. Three years later she came home. Looking back now as a mother myself, it must have been heartwrenching for her that I didn’t know who she was. She overcame many handicaps and accomplished things doctors told her she would never do. Mom taught me how powerful the mind and your thoughts can be. She died in 1973. I miss her smile and optimism.

Happy Mother’s Day to you.
