Hanukkah’s eight days light up the community

Below, Agoura Mayor Harry Schwarz lights the first candle with Rabbi Moshe Bryski from the Chabad of the Conejo. Hanukkah began on the 25th day of Kislev on the Hebrew calendar and ends at sundown today. Also known as the Festival of Lights, the holiday commemorates Israel's freedom from the oppressive Syrian-Greek rule and the rededication of the temple in Jerusalem after it was rebuilt.
