 Whether you pronounce it hibiss cuss or high-biss-kiss, there’s no quibbling over the beauty of the hibiscus plant. For some of us, the shrub is a vivid reminder of trips to tropical isles, where it appears in wanton abundance from airport to surf shack and all points between.
At the present instance, on a recent walkabout in a Newbury Park neighborhood that’s a mix of older homes and spiffy remodels, I stumbled into the heart of Hibiscus Land. There must be something the plant really love...
