Gun control, gender issues legislated


Overtime pay for agricultural workers and transparency in law enforcement were among the California laws going into effect with the start of the new year. Gender-neutral driver’s licenses will be available to the public, and another new law requires classes in school that teach students the difference between real news and fake news.
