Guest artists sing in cantata

The Elation Arts Series of Emmanuel Church will present the musical “What Kind of Throne” at 5 p.m. Sun., Dec. 10 at 588 Camino Manzanas, Thousand Oaks.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The Christmas musical was written by Tony Wood and Michael Farren and arranged by Cliff Duren.

The church’s Christmas Choir and orchestra, handbells and guest artists Daniela Podobea and Siuzanna Iglidan will perform.

The musical narrative presents arrangements of well-known carols and seasonal anthems.

Podobea, a soprano, was born in Romania. She moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to continue her career as an operatic singer.

Iglidan is a mezzo-soprano, bandura player, pianist and composer from the Ukraine who has won more than 30 Ukrainian and international music competitions.

In the United States, Iglidan has performed in concerts, recorded and composed film music, and volunteered in fundraising events benefiting orphans from the Ukraine.
