Grateful

This letter comes with heartfelt thanks to The Acorn and the community you serve. It is because you supported our call for volunteers that the Ramirez Canyon Park Educational Outreach Program for Children with Disabilities has been such a tremendous success.

I have published and posted volunteer opportunities in many communities and on the Web with little response except that of The Acorn community.

With volunteers like Jackie Lee who in turn got her husband and son involved, and Meggan Kimberley who got her husband involved, this model program has truly flourished. The program has been recognized by numerous special education teachers from public and private schools as one of the best educational outreach programs they have participated in.

We have been featured as a special interest story in the Sunday Los Angels Times, the program was filmed for a KNBC newscast on June 10, 2003, and we had an article in the July 11, 2003 issue of The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles.

Again, thank you for your support.

Any new potential volunteers interested in working with children and young adults with disabilities and animals in beautiful Ramirez Canyon Park in Malibu, please call me at (310) 589-3200, ext. 111. I will be having a new volunteer luncheon on Sun., Sept. 21.
