Golf tourney to benefit OPHS





The fourth annual Shootout at Sunset Hills golf and tennis tournament benefiting Oak Park High School athletics is scheduled for Mon., Oct. 27 at Sunset Hills Country Club in Thousand Oaks.
Hosted by the Oak Park High School Athletic Boosters, this year’s Shootout debuts a women’s round robin doubles tennis tournament beginning at 8:30 am.


The tournament will be limited to the first 50 doubles teams with awards going to the top duos in both the tournament and novice divisions.


Entry fee for the tennis tournament is $75 per team.


A barbecue lunch concludes the tennis tournament and kicks off the golf tournament.


The golf action begins with a noon shotgun start.


The event includes numerous skills contests including long drive, closest-to-the-pin and guess-your distance.


A 2004 Lincoln LS donated by Ladin Lincoln Mercury in the Thousand Oaks Auto Mall will be awarded to the golfer recording the first hole-in-one on the Par 3 ninth hole.


In keeping with the spirit of Oak Park High School Athletics, all teams scoring an eagle on any hole will be entered into a special grand prize drawing.


The $175 entry fee (per person) includes green fee, cart, tee package, BBQ lunch, and dinner. An awards banquet and silent auction immediately follows the tournament.


Proceeds from the event will go towards the continued support of all Oak Park High School athletic programs. In addition to purchasing new equipment and underwriting capital improvements for the school’s various athletic facilities.


The goal of this year’s shootout is to raise $25,000.
