Golf event has a worthy cause





The Ventura County Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is sponsoring their fourth annual Golf Classic on Mon., April 1 at Saticoy Country Club in Somis.


Ken McMullen, retired L.A. Dodger, will serve as the event’s celebrity host.


The tournament features a Texas scramble format and is open to occasional golfers as well as seasoned players.


Prizes will be offered for a hole-in-one including a new BMW or a large screen television.


The $195 golf registration fee includes an after-golf reception with a hors d’ouerves buffet, auctions, prizes and more.


For non-golfers who would like to attend the buffet and other festivities, the fee is $40.


Funds raised by the golf tournament "will make a real difference to the more than 15,000 people in Ventura County with Alzheimer’s disease and to their families and their caregivers," according to the event’s sponsor.
