Gives kudos to Acorn’s kids page

I scan the letters to the editor every week, while we’ve had to endure all the opinions going in every direction from the election to mask debates and eating out.

I applaud The Acorn for neutrally publishing the community’s thoughts and feelings, and only stepping in when absolutely necessary to bring some order, set humanity back on track and focus once again on things that really matter.

Through all of this chaos, there has been one item hidden in the middle that I have looked forward to with great enthusiasm, and that’s the Acorn Kids activity page. The website posted is www.readingclubfun.com, which I assume is where the page is created.

I have been cutting these pages out for months, ever since discovering them. I have quite a collection, and the grandkids have enjoyed them as much as I have enjoyed provided them during all of the quarantine down- times in between their virtual school classes.

They especially liked having them up at the lake condo when they got to come up for a visit back when it was safe to do so.

Many thanks to The Acorn for including this special page, especially during these stressful and trying times. It took caring, sensitivity and kindness to publish this desperately needed moment of peaceful entertainment for our children and our community.

It is greatly cherished and appreciated.
