Funds help schools maintain small classes



T.H.E. Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools recently donated $200,000 to the Las Virgenes Unified School District for the 2012-13 school year.
The gift will be used to compensate for state budget cuts. Not only is the district facing continuous reductions to funding, but the state is more than five months late in payment to the district.
Entering the 2012-13 school year, the LVUSD is operating at a $3.4-million deficit due to cuts in state funding that began in 2007.
