Frivolous funding

Driving down Las Virgenes Road north of the 101 Freeway I noticed a landscaping project in the center divider. It was complete with stones and other materials. I guess that the politicians consider these beautification projects as improving the infrastructure.

I also noticed the condition of the pavement of Las Virgenes Road. It is in need of repair. It is really bad.

I assumed that the gas tax increase was to pay for road improvements, but it seems that everything else is being improved except the roads. Money is being used to subsidize streetcar, bus and subway fares.

Another stupid project is the bullet train. The latest estimate for it is $77 billion. That amount of money is half the entire budge of the State of California. This is insane.

The animal crossing bridge is another project we can do without. If the lone mountain lion needs a harem, send him to Yosemite or Kings Canyon; just do not send him by air. That is a lot cheaper than building a bridge over the 101 Freeway.

He has already killed pet animals. Next he may kill some child or an adult.

I am still waiting to hear from the person in charge of this project with regard to naming the people or groups that will be contributing 80 percent of the funds for this project. I have a feeling it is the taxpayers.
