Free memory screenings

Senior Helpers and Senior Concerns will present free memory screenings from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wed., Nov. 9 at the Senior Helpers’ office, 31255 Cedar Valley Drive, Ste. 303, WLV.

Memory screenings are recommended for those concerned about memory loss or experiencing warning signs of dementia, whose family and friends have noticed changes in them, who believe they are at risk due to a family history of Alzheimer’s disease or a related illness, or who want to see how their memory is now and for future comparisons.

The screening will take about 10 minutes and is the first step toward finding out if a person may have a memory problem.

It is estimated that one in eight has Alzheimer’s disease, and nearly half of people age 85 and older have the disease. By 2050, as many as 16 million Americans will have Alzheimer’s disease.

Reservations are required for the screenings. Call Senior Helpers at (805) 497-8370.
