Free master instrumental classes offered for ages 16-25





The Music Center Education Division has announced the 21st annual tuition-free Corwin Master Classes for students ages 16 to 25 planning professional symphonic careers. On Sun., Feb. 17 an entire day of classes conducted by members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic will be presented at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center, 135 N. Grand Ave., downtown Los Angeles. Instruments include bass, clarinet, flute, percussion and timpani, trombone and tuba, trumpet, viola and violin.


The program also includes a new series, available for audit only, titled "Mornings with International Masters." These run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, Feb. 16, March 2 and 10, and feature pianist Andre Watts, conductor Franz Weiser-Most and violinist Pamela Frank, respectively.
