Fifth-graders tackle Ladyface Mountain

Luke Leard, a fifth-grade student at Sumac Elementary School, loves to hike—so much so that he started a hiking club with his classmates.

Seventeen students from Hilary Boss’s fifth-grade class, along with 10 parent chaperones, picked a tough destination for their first club trek on May 8: the 2,030-foot Ladyface Mountain in Agoura Hills.
