CHUCK ROGERS/The Acorn

A PENNY FOR HER THOUGHTS–Ariel Beesley, a 7-year-old Bay Laurel Elementary student, falls in love with artist Barbara Larson’s garden mermaid on display at last Saturday’s Cultural Festival at Calabasas’ Old Town. The all-day event celebrated October as Los Angeles County’s Arts and Humanities Month. Participation was free and open to the public. Attendees enjoyed fine art and art classes, dance exhibitions, food, Latin music and tours of the historic Leonis Adobe. See story in the community section.
