Fearful about school traffic

The election is over, and as our City Council resumes work on a full agenda, it’s time to place the need for traffic-safety improvements along our busy school corridors at the top of the list as two students have now been hit by cars while en route to LVUSD schools.
In 2010, a fifth-grader from Sumac Elementary School was hit by a car in the Fountainwood neighborhood. While en route to school, the student was hit in a legal crossing zone by a driver turning left.
