Farmers’ market dies on the vine

Lack of interest has forced the Agoura Hills Farmers’ Market to close after just nine months in operation.
The weekly market, which opened in April 2002, was a joint venture between Agoura High School and the Ventura County Certified Farmers’ Market Association.
Karen Schott, operations manager, said the farmers’ market began with enthusiasm, but had trouble attracting customers after autumn hit and daylight hours began to wane.
