Youth Musical Theatre has moved from its previous home in Woodland Hills to Thousand Oaks with its latest production, “Shrek: The Musical,” May 15 through 18 at the Scherr Forum, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. T.O. Blvd.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. each day, with additional matinee performances at 2:30 p.m. Sat. and Sun., May 17 and 18.

Ray Saar, director, and Bruce Barbee, musical director, have been producing shows for many years in the San Fernando Valley under the YMT name.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, the twisted fairy tale tells of a faraway kingdom turned upside down and an ogre who shows up to rescue a feisty princess.

Characters include a talkative donkey, a cookie with an attitude and more than a dozen other fairy tale misfits.

Tickets are $19 to $24 and are available through Ticketmaster and the Civic Arts Plaza box office.
