An election in retrospect
Turnout in last week’s primary election was dismal.
In my opinion, it can be mostly blamed on gridlock in Washington, D.C. and mudslinging. Voters are fed up with politics-as-usual and negative campaigns.
Here are other reasons why people choose not to vote:
• Candidates are full of empty promises. They claim they’ll do things, but fail miserably—or completely forget their campaign pledges—after they’re elected.
