The Chesebro Road freeway access in Agoura Hills was shut down for more than three hours July 1 while sheriff’s bomb squad units investigated what was reported to be a “suspicious device” on the overpass.
An off-duty deputy driving east on the 101 Freeway witnessed a small explosion and made the exit onto Chesebro to investigate. The device was believed to be fireworks.
Access to the bridge overpass was closed down in all directions.
