The nonprofit Conejo Orchid Society will have its annual free Orchid Show and Sale fundraiser from June 1 to 3 at the Grant Brimhall Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

Hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Fri., June 1; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sat., June 2; and noon to 3 p.m. Sun., June 3.

Demonstrations of dividing and potting orchids will take place at 3 p.m. Friday as well as 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday. Demos will show how to divide and repot orchids and will cover other aspects of orchid care.

Visitors can also shop for bargains and society members will be available to provide guidance and answer questions on how best to grow the purchases.

The event will include an exhibit of members’ orchids and a wide range of inexpensive, easy to grow orchids will be for sale.

Many of these plants can be grown outdoors in Southern California, and plants from Zuma Canyon Orchids, Carmela Orchids, Hatfield Orchids and society member divisions will be available.

Other companion plants, such as tillandsias, hoyas and succulents grown by Conejo Orchid Society members, will also be for sale, as will orchid potting mix and time-release orchid fertilizer.

Payment is cash or check only.

The program is not a Thousand Oaks Library-sponsored event.
