Endorsements for supervisor

The upcoming election for Ventura County Supervisor in District 2 is critical for the community of Oak Park.

One of the candidates has taken campaign contributions from developers and “Big Oil.” That is the last thing we need.

The other candidate is Claudia Bill-de la Peña, who has been on the Thousand Oaks City Council for decades.

I believe she will listen to the concerns of Oak Park and diligently work for us. This is why I give my full support to Claudia.

Vote on Nov. 8 and vote for Claudia Bill-de la Peña.

November’s Ventura County District 2 supervisors race offers residents a clear choice: A dedicated, local leader who stands up for the people of Ventura County, or an L.A. politician, and former fossil fuel strategist/ promoter, funded by wealthy special interests.

Perhaps you’ve noticed the weekly, full-page, full-color campaign ads in our newspaper, and those expensive, oversized campaign signs all over Thousand Oaks and Camarillo.

They are made possible by outside political action committees, influential developers, and polluting oil and gas multinationals flooding our local elections with money that buys them insider advantages.

In contrast, candidate Claudia Bill-de la Peña pledges to take no fossil fuel money and to instead prioritize the health of our families, climate and democracy over industry profits. Her distinguished record of service proves we can trust her to keep her word.

Claudia is a longtime champion for SOAR, affordable housing, seniors, small business and firearm safety.

She will protect our freedom to make decisions about our own well-being, to drink clean water and breathe fresh air, to trust our kids will come home safe from school each day, to prosper, to live and retire in dignity, to power our lives with clean energy, and to ensure a promising life for our children, our grandchildren, and future generations.

As a Thousand Oaks planning commissioner, and then city council member and four-time mayor, she has always listened and responded to the needs of our families and community. She will do the same as our supervisor.

As voters, we decide what is possible. We cannot allow powerful, self-interested corporations to buy yet another county election so they can whisper in the ear of our elected representative.

Please join me and vote to move our county in the right direction. Elect Claudia Bill-de la Peña, the experienced, caring, trustworthy leader Ventura County needs
