Encourages city to support open space purchase

On Wed., Dec. 13, Agoura Hills City Council will be discussing potential funding support to help purchase the Triangle Ranch.

City Hall is at 30001 Ladyface Court.

Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy has the funding to purchase most of the project, but needs Agoura Hills’ participation in raising an additional $2 million to complete the purchase by the end of this year.

Triangle Ranch is a massive development that is along Kanan Road below Ladyface Mountain, south of Agoura Road and along Cornell Road behind Fire Station 65.

If built out, this would include massive grading, retaining walls along Kanan Road, 30- to 40-foot cuts into Ladyface Mountain and in the sensitive environmental area behind Fire Station 65, cutting of oak trees, polluting of Medea Creek and major impacts on a rare endangered federally protected flower, Lyon’s pentachaeta.

Agoura Village will have McMansions and big walls as a backdrop. Traffic will be terrible.

Please attend this meeting. Let’s keep Triangle Ranch as a beautiful, open space.

Cornell Preservation organization has stayed in this fight for years. Now it’s time to get Triangle acquired and save Ladyface Mountain.
