A “no” vote in November on the parcel tax as proposed by the LVUSD will stop the vicious cycle of tax-and-slash budget management in the business of education by the state and local leaders.
In 2008 the residents of the LVUSD renewed Measure E, a $98 parcel tax, which remains in force, adding $2 million annually to the ailing school district budget. Since then evidence shows that revenue from new taxation is spread thinner and thinner, while school budgets continue to decline.
