Elect Weintraub to Calabasas council

Our neighbor and friend Alicia Weintraub is running for Calabasas City Council. While we know that there is a large field of candidates, we wanted people to know that she is uniquely qualified to serve on our City Council.

We like that Alicia is truly a new choice for Calabasas. We especially like that she has some innovative plans, including her “Shop Calabasas” Campaign, to increase tax revenue for our city without increasing taxes.

With a master’s degree in public policy and having worked in the private sector and for the local governments of Burbank and Culver City—Alicia even interned for the then-new city of Calabasas—she created several new community programs.

As a mother of two young children, Alicia wants to ensure that Calabasas will remain a place where families want to live, not just today but in the future. She wants to see our city work closely with Las Virgenes Unified School District and Parent Faculty Associations to ensure that our schools receive the funding needed to maintain their high academic standing and to make certain that our children are protected.

Further, Alicia has long been a strong proponent of developing a new type of neighborhood watch group that uses technology and social media to keep the community informed of local activities in real time. In light of the recent shooting near neighboring public school and a suspicious van incident near an elementary school, we hope that her idea can be implemented on a large scale as soon as possible.

Alicia has always had a passion for serving the public good dating back to her teen years when she volunteered to help people after the 1994 earthquake.

We strongly support Alicia Weintraub for Calabasas City Council. If you want to learn more, please visit www.aliciaweintraub.com. Faye and Boris Sokolsky Calabasas
