Water quality continues to be one of the most important environmental concerns in the Las Virgenes and Malibu Creek watersheds, say Calabasas officials who are asking for the community’s help to reduce pollution in local rivers and creeks.
New regulations are in the works to restore habitat and eliminate urban runoff from all tributaries in the watershed before they merge into Malibu Creek, and these measures could cost jurisdictions up to $800 million over the next 20 years.
