Easter Sunrise Service planned

The Valley Interfaith Council will present an Easter Sunrise Service at 6 a.m. Sun., April 8 at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village.

Nearly 1,000 worshippers and ministers from the Conejo Valley will celebrate the 45th year of this non-denominational service.

The Rev. Craig Beeker will deliver the Easter message, “ Second chances and New Hope.”

The event will also feature scripture readings, music, prayers and proclamation, and a setting including a cross of luminaries on the hill, and a shepherd and her dog tending sheep in the garden of Gethsemane.

The service’s collection will benefit Lutheran Social Services, which provides a wide range of programs for individuals and families in the Conejo Valley.

Light refreshments will be served following the celebration.
