Earth Day to be celebrated in Agoura Hills

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, L.A. County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky’s office, the cities of Calabasas and Agoura Hills and Willow Elementary School invite the community to attend the Malibu Creek Watershed Earth Day Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thurs., April 17 at the 28000 block of Agoura Road in Agoura Hills.

The site is adjacent the Chesebro Canyon Channel, just east of Cornell Road (behind Whizin’s Mall).

The event features a tree planting open to the public. Participants will plant trees that will become a part of the community for years to come.

The trees will provide "aesthetic enhancement for a portion of Agoura Road adjacent to Chesebro Canyon Channel, an area used by many people for walks and lunch breaks. The trees will provide shade, improve the local habitat, and benefit air quality in the community," according to event organizers.
