Eagle Scout builds turtle pen

HIGH ACHIEVEMENT— Ben Voth, a 17-year-old from Agoura Hills, left, builds an enclosed turtle and tortoise holding pen at the Los Angeles County Animal Care Center in Agoura Hills for his Eagle Scout project. At bottom left is the completed holding pen. The new compound is only one of two of its kind in the L.A. County Animal Care and Control system, and is the most comprehensive structure. Construction took place over two weekends with several 12-hour workdays on the job. Ben led a team of about 40 people who assisted on the project.
