With all of the attention given to California’s drought situation and our need to conserve, I find it amazing that the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation would release 105,392 acre feet—34 billion gallons—of Colorado River water from the Morelos Dam in order to create a water surge to the Gulf of Mexico.
