Dreamin’ of fine cuisine, dancing


The 10th annual Simi Valley Dream Cuisine, “A Night at the House,” will take place from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Sun., Oct. 13 at St. Rose of Lima church and school grounds, 1305 Royal Ave., Simi Valley.

The festival will feature gourmet foods from 50 restaurants, bakeries and dessert establishments in Simi Valley, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks and the San Fernando Valley as well as fine wine from California wineries and beer from well-known area breweries.

During dinner, the St. Rose of Lima Master Chorale featuring Michelle Stramaglia Eddy will provide entertainment with a number of selections from “Phantom of the Opera.”

After dinner, Ronny and the Classics will get the crowd dancing to rock hits from the 1950s through the ’80s.

The evening will also feature a silent auction and opportunity drawings for $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500.

St. Rose of St Lima Christian Services and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish and grade school have been serving the poor, needy and less fortunate in Simi Valley and surrounding communities for over 50 years. All the proceeds from the Dream Cuisine fundraiser will go to help support these services as well as the students of St. Rose of Lima School.

The special honoree will be Habitat for Humanity. The global nonprofit housing organization works in communities across the United States and in more than 70 countries. Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes and communities.

Tickets are $65 per person or $650 for a reserved table of 10.

A limited number of VIP Gold, Silver and Bronze Circle tables with special perks are available at $1,000, $800 and $700 respectively. Call the ticket hotline for details.

Opportunity drawing tickets are $5 each. Purchase two books of five tickets each for $50 and get a third book for free (a $25 value).
