Kids and Families Together in partnership with Heart 2 Heart will host the annual Back to School Donation Drive for foster/resource, kinship and adopted children in Ventura County through Aug. 10.
The organizations support children and young adults from kindergarten to college by providing backpacks and school supplies to them and their families.
With the help of residents, businesses and community partners, the organization aims to provide the supplies to at least 250 youths.
On Sat., Aug. 10, the donations will handed out to the kids at River Community Church. Each child will receive a backpack and age-appropriate school supplies.
The event will include activities such as a reading tent, touch-a-truck, donations of clothing and household goods, and snacks.
The organizations are seeking help in the following ways: through volunteering, finding sponsors, direct donations, shopping the Amazon wish list at http://a.co/30t9ROg and hosting a donation bin.
The organizations are accepting donations of backpacks, binders, dividers, paper, markers, crayons, pencils, pencil pouches, pens, glue sticks, rulers, calculators, personal care items and gift cards.
Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Kids and Families Together, 864 E. Santa Clara St., Ventura.
