Dismissal of Soloman was unwarranted

Jack Solomon has been abruptly ousted from the Calabasas Planning Commission in a Machiavellian minuet orchestrated by city council members.

When he was appointed two-anda-half years ago, he was called “the conscience of the scenic corridor.” During those years, Solomon spoke up forcefully for the environment, only to be outvoted by the pro-developer sentiment that now dominates the commission and council.

Calabasas originally became a city to stop developers from destroying this once-beautiful natural area. Now the city thinks nothing of putting on the ballot rude assaults on nature like Measure C’s Malibu Valley Inn and Spa and thinks nothing of silencing its environmental conscience. This is not the city we thought we were getting. Bob Benson Calabasas
