Discovery Center seeks volunteers for outreach programs

The Discovery Center for Science and Technology welcomes volunteers for their Museum Without Walls Outreach Programs. These programs are:

Starlabs, which is a portable plantetarium that holds up to 25 people and turns the vastness of the universe into an intimate experience.

RAYS (Reading Awakens Young Scientists) brings science alive through the pages of high quality literature. The books brought to the classroom serve as a springboard for the study of science concepts found in everyday life.

Family Science Night brings children and their parents together to participate in hands on science experiments at local schools.

Exhibits Outreach gives children and families the opportunity to interact with fun science exhibits at community fairs and events.

These and other programs along with several community events need volunteers who enjoy science concepts and working with children. (Volunteers need not be scientists to participate.) The Discovery Center provides training.
