The City of Agoura Hills added a new, larger van to the community Dial-A-Ride service that will offer improved loading convenience for passengers with mobility devices.

The van has an expanded area for loading and riding, and versatile seating that can accommodate eight passengers or four passengers and two wheelchairs for transporting disabled residents comfortably.

The Dial-A-Ride program, operated by MV Transportation, provides deluxe transportation between Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills with door-to-door service for all residents.

Transportation routes cover Agoura Hills and Malibou Lake, as well as popular destination service to Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks and Woodland Hills, including Kaiser and Los Robles medical centers. Target in Westlake Village is also on the service route.

Most vehicles in the fleet offer low floors for senior-friendly boarding and wheelchair accessible ramps.

Children 10 and older may ride alone and babies may ride in their own car seats.

Riders should make appointments a day in advance, but the vans will pick up on a moment’s notice if available.

All rides are $1.50 one way within city limits and $3 to locations outside city boundaries.

The vans operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There is no service on Sundays or holidays.

To schedule a ride, call Dial A-Ride at (818) 707-2005. Travelers with mobility devices should inform the dispatcher and request a handicap accessible van when they call.
