Deputy involved shooting in Agoura Hills

Deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station reportedly were involved in a May 4 shooting incident at the 4000 block of Yankee Drive in the Liberty Canyon neighborhood of Agoura Hills.

The sheriff’s station received a suicide call around 2:30 p.m. A female caller stated she was suicidal and that she was holding a gun on her lap.

“Upon deputy’s arrival, they contacted the female adult outside her vehicle during which time a deputy involved shooting occurred,” a sheriff’s report said.

The gun was a replica, and the report didn’t say why the deputy shot was fired or where it was aimed.

The woman was not hit but was taken to a hospital for observation. No other injuries were reported.

Law enforcement officials kept Yankee Drive blocked off for more than eight hours. An investigation continues.
