Last week, our local water board again did the state’s bidding to promote the governor’s infamous water tunnels. The state’s estimated project cost: $15 billion.
But projections to finance, operate and mitigate environmental issues put the real cost at $50 billion.
For perspective, that’s $3,900 per household, and California’s total budget is $170 billion.
FYI, we only “need” one tunnel (half cost), but two makes it easier on state water engineers.
