Regarding your editorial of Feb. 5, you stated that "the law says a pedestrian must be allowed to traverse the crosswalk before a motorist can proceed."
What section of the California Vehicle Code are you quoting? My understanding is that pedestrians do not automatically have the right-of-way, but rather drivers must "yield" it to them and that word "yield" is open to interpretation.
