Crocodile rockin’ at concert

Four veteran musicians and the music of Elton John from his early years will close out the Conejo Recreation and Park District’s 2011 Summer Concerts in the Park series on Labor Day at 5 p.m. Mon., Sept. 5 in the natural grass amphitheater at Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Ave., Thousand Oaks.

The concert, sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Acorn, presents “Elton: The Early Years.” The performance aims to bring audiences back to the 1970s Elton and The Troubadour, complete with polyester, flared bell-bottom pants, platform shoes, outrageous glasses, glitter and sequins.

Concertgoers can bring picnic fare and blankets or folding chairs for lawn seating. Jackets or sweaters are recommended when the temperature cools.

Parking is off-site only; leave pets at home.
