Caroline Canales, take a bow.

The Calabasas High girls’ golf superstar won the CIF State Individual Championship on Nov. 19 by shooting a 1-under-par 70 at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach. Canales finished one stroke ahead of Troy’s Sherilyn Villanueva (71).

Olivia Canales, a UC Irvine freshman women’s golfer, prophesied her younger sister’s success last November in an interview with the Acorn.

“I think Caroline has so much potential,” Olivia said of Caroline, a force in the U.S. Women’s Amateur circuit. “I think she can win state as a junior or senior.”
