Cowboy singers rustle up a concert




The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza will present Riders in the Sky at 8 p.m. Fri., Feb. 21 at the Kavli Theatre, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Known for their blend of Western harmony and humor, Riders in the Sky is a two-time Grammy Award-winning group that has performed for more than three decades.

The group has made 700 appearances at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry and is best known to younger audiences for the performance of “Woody’s Roundup” in the movie “Toy Story 2.”

The classic cowboy quartet has released more than 30 albums. The members are hosts of weekly CBS and TNN programs.

They are inductees of the Western Music Association Hall of Fame and are also included in the Country Music Foundation’s Walkway of Stars.
