County’s vaccine effort falls short

Despite having 10 months to plan, it is now obvious that the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the governor’s office never formulated a plan to administer COVID-19 vaccinations.
As of this writing, California is 47th nationwide in vaccine distribution with only 30% of its vaccine doses given. We are behind every state except Alabama, Georgia and Idaho.
In real terms, about 2.5 million live-saving doses out 3.5 million received still sit on the shelf in California.
